WE DID IT!! TOGETHER!! Thanks to you and your generous support of Building on Mission, we are fully moved into our new office in Roxbury Crossing.

The popularity of the building – with its welcoming entrance, sparkling new interview areas, and its close proximity to public transportation – is surpassing our wildest expectations. The number of our participants and others looking for housing help in our new space has approximately doubled compared to our previous location, demonstrating the need for affordable housing supports for families with low incomes.

It is clear that our new office space is being put to good use!

For example, our most recently-scheduled free workshop, “Affordable Housing Basics for Service Providers,” filled up in one day. At this workshop, 25 social service professionals and volunteers received an overview of best practices regarding affordable housing programs from Metro Housing staff. The next session scheduled for June also filled up within a few days.

Our office has also recently hosted the Lawyers Clearinghouse Legal Clinic for the Homeless. Over the last few months, 32 homeless and low-income individuals and families have received free legal help through this partnership. And next month we will be hosting an appreciation evening for more than 100 property owners that provide affordable homes for the families we work with.
