Vivian Morales of Michigan State University Named Metro Housing|Boston’s 2025 Lowell L. Richards Fellow

Massport to Host Fellowship for the Thirteenth Consecutive Year

Boston, MA – Metro Housing|Boston is excited to announce that Vivian Morales of Michigan State University has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the Lowell L. Richards, III Fellowship for Leadership and Public Service.                                                             

Vivian will complete her fellowship this summer with the Massachusetts Port Authority’s (Massport) Real Estate and Asset Management Department, where Lowell Richards was Chief Development Officer for more than ten years.

“For several years, Massport has had the great privilege of working with outstanding young professionals as Lowell Richards Fellows in our Real Estate & Asset Management Department,” said Andrew Hargens, Chief Development Officer. “Vivian brings impressive qualifications, and we are excited to welcome her our team this summer.”

“This marks the thirteenth year of the fellowship, and I am truly thankful to the dedicated individuals at Metro Housing and Massport who generously contribute their time to keep this program going. Every year, we draw outstanding and highly qualified candidates, and this year is no exception,” said Karen Richards, Lowell’s wife. “Vivian brings a wealth of experience in public policy and a deep commitment to urban planning and development. Lowell would be honored to have Vivian carry on his legacy through this Fellowship.”

Vivian holds a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning, and she will receive her master’s in the field from Michigan State University this spring.

“I am truly honored to accept the Lowell L. Richards, III Fellowship and am excited to begin this summer. The values and mission of the fellowship align closely with my own passions for public service, and I’m eager to contribute,” says Vivian. “I’m particularly excited to gain hands-on experience in real estate, as well as economic and community development in Boston. I look forward to learning from such a talented group of individuals and growing in ways that will help me make a positive impact. I can’t wait to see where this opportunity takes me.”

Lowell L. Richards, III served on Metro Housing|Boston’s Board of Directors for nearly 30 years, as Co-chair for twelve years prior to his death in 2012. Richards, III Fellowship for Leadership and Public Service in 2013.
