Congresswoman Katherine Clark (D-MA 5th District) kicked off National Housing Week of Action on May 1 in Boston as part of a forum on affordable housing. The event–Foundations for the Future: State & Federal Affordable Housing Programs–was held at the offices of Metro Housing Boston in Roxbury Crossing. It was an interactive evening of discussion among state and national policy leaders to discuss the successes and roadblocks currently facing the affordable housing field in Massachusetts and DC.
Panelists were Executive Director Clark Ziegler of the Massachusetts Housing Partnership, Cynthia Lacasse of MassHousing, the new Undersecretary of DHCD Janelle Chan, DHCD associate director Kate Racer, and Diane Yentel from the National Low Income Housing Coalition. Rachel Heller, CEO of CHAPA (Citizens’ Housing and Planning Association) served as moderator.
