Champions of Housing
The Champions of Housing event was established in 2008 to honor the accomplishments of individuals and organizations best representing Metro Housing|Boston co-founder, William S. Edgerly’s concept of government, nonprofit, and for-profit partnerships to develop, promote, and preserve affordable housing in Greater Boston. Team Metro Housing
Team Metro Housing has had runners compete and raise funds through the Boston Marathon since 2006. Runners have raised more than $660,000 to help prevent families and individuals throughout Greater Boston from becoming homeless and transition from homelessness to stability. In 2024, Team Metro Housing is proud to be a charity sponsor of Boston’s Race to Remember, which pays tribute to our fallen law enforcement officers and our first responders.
