We use our resources to deliver innovative solutions with personalized service
No matter where people are – homeless, struggling to keep their home, or stably housed – Metro Housing can help.
Metro Housing Boston extends our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Langley Keyes. A longtime Metro Housing Board Member and Professor Emeritus at MIT, Langley was a dedicated advocate for housing stability.
Langley discovered his passion for affordable housing and urban planning as a community organizer at the United South End Settlements (USES) in Boston more than fifty-five years ago. His interest motivated him to enroll at MIT to study urban planning where he eventually earned his Ph.D. before joining the faculty as Ford Professor of Urban Planning and Architecture. He joined the Metro Housing Board in 1986 and became Program Committee Chair Emeritus in 2023. During his time on the board, he was influential in determining effective ways to offer residents supportive services and opportunities for their economic development so families not only find, but keep homes they can afford.
We are grateful for his contributions in advancing our mission and we will miss him greatly.
